The Valley had seven cities with less than a million, but more than 100,000 residents in the year 2000. These cities were: Chandler, Peoria, Tempe, Mesa, Scottsdale, Glendale and Gilbert. That same year, Phoenix boasted a population of over a million people.

There are plenty of places for pets to play in Gilbert, with a specially dedicated dog park off Greenfield Road where you can let them run around as much as they want. Crossroads Dog Park is open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. every day of the week.
